25 days of cookies {Cookie #9}: Russian Tea Cakes

I never like these when I was little, but I love them now.  When it comes down to it, I love anything dusted with powdered sugar.  Any vegetable tastes good deep-fried and dipped in ranch dressing.  Well, any cookie dipped in powdered sugar is lovely to me.

My lovely assistant.

All done and ready for tasting and delivery.

Russian Tea Cakes
(by Betty Crocker)
1 cup soft butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup finely chopped nuts

Mix together butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla.  Add flour and salt.  Then add nuts.  I used pecans.  Chill dough.  Roll into 1 inch balls.  Place on baking sheet and bake at 400 degrees for about 8-10 minutes.  Bake until they are set, not brown.  While still warm, roll in powdered sugar.  Cool.  Roll in sugar again.

I'm impressed by all your books in the background. Nice. I like the cookies as well, but never knew what they were called.
