25 days of cookies {Cookie 3}

These cookies may not be the prettiest on the plate, but they might be the most tasty.  I never liked making them when I was little because the molasses stinks.  They are good that way because your kids don't want to gobble all the dough before you even bake them.

My excited helper.  He was surprisingly good at rolling the little balls and putting them in the sugar.

The finished product.

Molasses Crinkles
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup butter
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon ginger
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon cloves (yes, that is a tablespoon)
1 tablespoon soda

Combine sugar, butter, egg and molasses.  Then add the rest.  Roll in small balls.  Roll balls in sugar.  Bake at 350 degrees for 7-10 minutes.  I baked mine for 7 because I like them chewy.

And onto other Christmas cheer.  We went downtown Fort Worth and saw Santa last night.  It was a perfect night.  If it's not going to be a white Christmas, then 60 degrees is just about right.

I think that light behind Chris is the star the Wise Men followed.   And can you spy Cry Cry?

'Til tomorrow...

Sarah, I'm glad I found your blog (through FB). I like that you're posting the recipes with the cute photos! This is one of my favorite things about home school - the TIME to do fun and meaningful things together. We try to do at least one act of kindness every day (not just at Christmas!) for some unsuspecting person - the reactions from people are priceless (or they were, until my oldest son kept making it into the paper for all his good deeds - kind of spoiled the surprise!) I am praying Matthew 5:16 over your sweet family right now. Bless you, Jennifer
