Friday Fun

We all have a celebrity double.
Some of us just have a more obvious celebrity double than others.

The other day, Leigh Ann (check out her yummy food blog) told me I had a resemblance to the Middleton sisters.
She's officially the first person who has ever told me I had a celebrity double.  Therefore she is my new best friend.

If you don't like seeing pictures of Samuel, you should keep web surfing right now.
I just have a hard time narrowing down my picture selection.
I have so many fun shots.  I promise, I tried to keep it to a minimum.  But as his mother, I probably got a little carried away.
I mean, look at that face.  So excited to put on that super cool uniform and play his first game.

He NEVER tires of baseball.

He also snapped a lot this season.  Maybe a nervous habit while he looked on from the dugout.

His hottie first base coach.

His spectators.  In the June Texas heat, this is a labor of love.

He'll need extensive dental work after all the candy he was fed to keep him happy.

His spot on the field this year.  He loves playing first.

We didn't win any tournaments.  We were third in the first tournament and second in the next.
Samuel takes these kind of things very hard.

A little too hard.

But at least the 2nd place trophy was nice and tall.  It takes some of the pain away from losing.

A good season was had by all.  Chris worked hard.  Samuel worked hard.

But let's be honest, I worked the hardest... washing baseball uniforms, packing snacks, entertaining the littles.  Being a baseball mom is hard work.

But for these two guys, it was all worth it.
More on Asher's team later.

Minnesota Instagram

I didn't take too many pictures with my real camera in Minnesota.  It was nice to simply enjoy the moments.  I did, however, have my phone with me, and snapped pictures of the things we did that I wanted to remember.
[from to left to right]

1.  My view peeking through the woods on a morning run.
2.  Feeding the ducks with Grandma.
3.  Cousin strawberry picking, later to be made into freezer jam.
4.  My 4th of July date with Samuel to Caribou (kids drinks were free!)
5.  My old apartment building.  I spent hours talking to Chris on the phone in there.  Mine was the lower right hand window.  Tarrah and Chandra, we had some good laughs in those walls, yes?
6.  Hanging out by Cannon River in Northfield.
7.  Spending GiGi's Christmas money at LegoLand at the MOA.  I made them wait until the summer to spend it.  It was extra fun.  Thanks GiGi!
8.  Bike rides.  Lots of bike rides.
9.  Asher's completed Lego project.

1.  Cars 2 Mural at the Disney Store.
2.  In front of the American Doll Girl Store.  They almost wouldn't sit on the steps because it was too girly.
3.  Graham riding by himself on the log ride.  They all got to pick 3 rides.  He was the only one who wanted to do the log ride twice.  Typical Graham.  He knows exactly what he wants and goes for it.
4.  Cry Cry had to have his Mommy come and pry his little fingers off the steering wheel when the ride stopped.  Kind of sweet that he loved it so much.  Kind of a good reminder that I need train him better so he stops embarrassing me in public.
5.  He still LOVES his Papa.
6.  The Carousel (totally had to look up how to spell that, but now I know).
7.  Kiddie Cars.
8.  And bumper cars.
9.  And swings.

1.  Precious time with Grandma at Centennial Lakes, one of my old high school hang outs.
2.  Little creek running through an Edina neighborhood during my run.  So pretty.
3.  Cry Cry strawberry "picking."  I think he ate about 2 pounds out of my bucket.
4.  An older gentlemen with his motorized sail boat being sweet to the boys and sailing over by us.
5.  Bye bye Minnesota!
6.  Love how he sleeps.
7.  At West Elm, checking out light fixtures.  Do you like this one?
8.  We just had to go to Trader Joes.
9.  My Anne of Green Gables bridge.  Unfortunately, growing up, I had no Gilbert.  Fun to see my boys on there now.

Can you tell it was a great trip.  Thanks, Mom & Dad, for hosting and serving us.
Oh, and collages compliments of picnik.

Photo Friday {Northfield}

This is a typical night in Northfield, Minnesota.  At the Culvers.
Texas doesn't have Culvers.  That's a very sad thing.  But at least we have Chick Fil A.
I think these grandparents should be happy.  To get these 7 gorgeous grandkids out of their 2 children.

Their frozen custard is very yummy.  My fav is plain ole vanilla with raspberries.

I'm seeing a baby bird.

This one loves his grandma.

Uncle Bryan is their only uncle.

And Aunt Tess their only aunt.

1.... 2.... 3....

All 7.

Thanks Northfield and Culvers for a great night!

In case you're wondering, I especially like 3 things about this particular picture...
Cry Cry resting his head in his hands.  He does this quite a bit and it's adorable, I think.
He has his "gung gung."  (what he calls his special blanket)
It's taken in a fishing boat, parked in the garage while he was hanging out with my dad.

Doesn't he look happy and content?
Maybe it's because he was born in Minnesota.

What's been going on here

I haven't been that good of a blogger lately.  While my goal is to post three times a week, it doesn't always happen.  I have a different post on that later.  But for now, here's what's been going on in our world, thanks to my handy phone.
one.  I love this one sleeping.
two.  I've been teaching this one to be my laundry helper and so far, he's been loving it.  I'm sure it'll be short-lived.
three.  A cute idea from Anthropologie.
four.  Graham had a fever (the bucket was a precaution) and was allowed to watch a movie in his bed.  It turned out to be not such a good idea since soon after this, ALL five boys crawled in his bed with him.  Thankfully, no one else got it.
five.  Math facts are sure more fun now than when we were young.  "Graham, when I was your age, we had to use these things called flashcards."
six.  Getting ideas at IKEA.
seven.  This is how I look when I'm doing the minivan mom thing.  I need to smile more, and squint less.
eight.  All five (due to the squareness of this pic, you can't see all 5, sorry) fell asleep after a family swimming event in Dallas, proof that we had a good time.
nine.  Swimming.  It's all you can do here when it's 100 degrees everyday.

That was fun, wasn't it?
More quick updates to come, but for today, I'm signing off.
