25 days of cookies {Cookie #7}: Snickerdoodles

You can't go wrong with these.  Joseph loved making them.  We all loved eating them and passing them on to be eaten.  When I was glancing here the other night, guess what I found out?  The Food Network is doing the 12 days of cookies.  I promise I came up with my idea all by my lonesome, but it makes me proud that I came up with an idea that they paid marketing geniuses tons of money to create.  Not to pat myself on the back, but I'm pretty sure they will be calling me soon, and asking me if I want a job... for recipes like chocolate covered pretzels and such.  On to today's cookie--

Snickerdoodles!  Love them.

My extra-happy helper.

Stockings from my grandma, Anita.  I need to do a post on them later.  They are wonderful!

Snickerdoodles
1 cup shortening (I used butter).
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp soda
1/4 tsp salt

Cream butter and sugar.  Add eggs.  Mix dry ingredients in.  Roll into balls and in cinnamon sugar mixture (1 Tbsp sugar and 2 tsp cinnamon).  Place on cookie sheet and bake at 400 for 8-10 minutes.
