25 days of cookies {Cookie #5}: Peanut Butter with Hershey's Kiss

I've never gone through a Christmas season without eating at least 15 of these (unfortunately).  You can never go wrong with a classic.  Sort of like jeans and a white shirt will never be out of style, or maybe it is out of style and I have been looking ridiculous for years.  Graham was excited to make these.  What kid doesn't love them?  And what kid doesn't love to unwrap chocolate kisses and press them into a warm cookie?

He delivered these to a new couple in our neighborhood.  Graham talked to them for about 5 minutes and seemed to have a great time meeting them.  Delivering the cookies has become almost as fun as making them.

Peanut Butter Cookies with Hershey's Kiss
(this was also my grandmother's recipe)
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp soda
1/4 tsp salt

Mix together butter, PB, sugar, brown sugar, and egg.  Then add the dry ingredients.  Roll into little balls and dip in sugar.  Bake at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes.  I don't think I baked mine this long.  I like to under bake cookies so they are chewy, without being doughy of course.  When they come out of the oven, right away put the Hersheys kiss on top, gently pressing in enough so the kiss will adhere to the cookie.  Then don't touch them for a long time because the chocolate will be wet for a couple of hours.

I've also done this with peanut butter cups.
