25 days of cookies {Cookie 2}

I know this is 25 days of cookies, but what I really meant is 25 days of things to put on a Christmas cookie platter. That title just isn't as catchy.  Yesterday Samuel and I made corn flake wreaths.  These are so easy and pretty, and kids LOVE them.  Actually, my husband does too.

This was my little marshmallow-face helper.

So excited to deliver them to his friends down the street.

Corn Flake Wreaths
1 bag marshmallows
1/4 cup butter
green food coloring
6 cups corn flakes
red hots

Melt marshmallows and butter in a big bowl in microwave.  Add food coloring until it looks green enough for you.  Fold in corn flakes.  The key to these is getting your hands really oily so you can mold them.  I normally use Crisco, but didn't have any, so yesterday I sprayed my hands with cooking spray.  It didn't work as well, but it was okay.  Add red hots.

So, are you doing this with just one child each day? Just curious... Sounds like a good way to get some one on one time in.

I have seriously been wanting to make these ever since last Christmas and have been totally craving them recently! I just keep forgetting to buy the cornflakes. I think I will have Barry pick some up on his way home from work today. Yum! Thank you for the inspiration! BTW couldn't you just dip your hands in a bowl of vegetable oil instead of the cooking spray or crisco?

Yes, just one child per day. Otherwise they all swarm like flies and want to all do the same thing :) It really has been fun!
And Katherine, good call. I should have done that with the oil. That would have worked better.
