I think it's pretty safe to say that while everyone loved and enjoyed all the boys, it was Nathan was who was the party animal at the reception. He naturally has little inhibition. Sometimes I describe him as, "a party in a person." Wherever he goes, he is having the best time. The reception was no exception.
He spent a lot of time on peoples' shoulders...
High-fiving someone or the other.
He came up to me about an hour into the dancing and says, "I think everyone really likes me here."
Yes, Nathan, I think you are right.
This girl really seemed to like him.
This crowd is doing a little dance Nathan invented.
The rest of us were getting a little bit tired and found it more enjoyable to watch other people dance.
This boy had at least three or four Shirley Temples.
The boys even stole some dances with the mother of the bride.
The next day we got to spend the day at the lake with Leighsas' parents.
The boys had a blast. Samuel said it was his favorite day of the whole trip.
The littler boys played in the sand for hours.
We got to go tubing.
And we ended the perfect day at the lake with s'mores by the fire.
We somehow jammed everything back into the minivan. I should have taken a picture of it, because it was pretty bad. As you can tell, Samuel was really sad to leave. He wants to live in Michigan now. The other boys were all sad to leave too. Leighsa's family was so kind of us… letting us stay in their home, treating us like family, and taking us to the lake and other places in Grand Haven. They were wonderful. We had a fabulous time.
The ride home was long and kind of sad.
Stretches during a pit stop (at Starbucks which is the best place to stop!)
Lots of snacks to get us through.
But there's no place like home. It was nice to have the five little monkeys home.
