They say it better... Boys & Reading.

This article came out in the Wall Street Journal recently.  It's a good read, especially for this mother who is very interested in having her boys be readers.

Chris is somewhere in the middle of The Chronicles of Narnia series.  He reads to them at night when they are all tucked in their beds.  I am reading them Old Yeller in the afternoons.  Anyone have any boy reading suggestions?  I have a few books stockpiled that are up next, but am always looking for recommendations!

  1. 'Farmer Boy' (Little House on the Prairie) 'Where the Red Fern Grows' and 'How to eat Fried Worms' :) They might beg you for a dog after 'where the red fern grows!'

  2. G.A. Henty books. Your guys might be a little young, but they are amazing and a great investment.

  3. My younger brother really liked the Boxcar Children. Or Hardy Boys (I think you can still buy them). Josh also likes the new Diary of a Wimpy kid books.

  4. The Redwall Adventure books by Brain Jacques are a great read!
